Screening license for 'Sophie and the Beast’ issued

License for screening at Iranian cinemas has been issued for Iran film 'Sophie and the Beast' directed by Mehdi Karampour.

Domestic media reported on Sunday that the film produced in 2017 was approved for release at the latest session of an official council in charge of evaluating films for screening at Iranian theaters.

With the screenplay written by Mehdi Sajadehchi and Mehdi Karampour, the romantic drama is Karampour’s fifth cinematic work after films such as ‘The Wooden Bridge’.

Amir Jafari and Behafarid Ghafarian play the starring roles in the film. Iranian singer Reza Yazdani also took a co-starring role in ‘Sophie and the Beast’.

FilmIran Institute has acquired the distribution rights to the latest project by Karampour.
